INFORMATION FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
Transcrime-Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with registered office in Largo Agostino Gemelli 1 in Milan (MI), as Data Controller, informs you according to art. 13 of the Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 and art. 13 of EU Regulation no. 2016/679 (GDPR), that the data collected through the website www.datacros3.com, its contact form, external pages used to collect information from registrants for DATACROS events and during your participation, in person or remotely, in DATACROS events and initiatives, will be processed in the following manner and for the following purposes.

1. Object of processing
The Controller processes the following personal data:
a) Data you provide via the website contact form or email (e.g. name, email address, company, country, job title, address, mobile number)
b) Unless you have opted out or have otherwise refused to provide consent, the following is data that we automatically collect from your device through cookies and similar technologies provided by third parties such as Google. These services aggregate anonymised information such as online journey, site interactions, device, origin, browser type, Ip address.
c) We may use external services, such as the Eventbrite website, to collect attendee information and registration data useful for organising Project events and initiatives. These external services will act as data processors. More information on Eventbrite’s privacy policy can be found here.
d) Project events may be recorded and published on the Transcrime-UCSC and Project website and channels. This includes the royalty-free use of images and/or video and audio recorded during the events or during interviews for research, studies, communication and dissemination activities.
2. Purpose of processing
The aforementioned personal data is processed subject to your consent and the requirements of the GDPR. The Controller will retain such data until it is no longer necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it is being used, as required by applicable law, or until you ask us to delete it.
The purposes of the processing are:
- Data collected via the website contact form will be used to respond to the contact request and any other communication related to the project. Legal basis: your explicit consent.
- Data collected via third party cookies and similar technologies, such as Google Analytics, will be used to improve the website’s performance, to guide the project’s communication and dissemination strategy, to monitor communication KPIs, and to prevent fraud. Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interests and the consent you have given by accepting the cookies.
- Data collected via external contact forms, such as from Eventbrite website, are used to organise project events, collect registration requests and send communications related to the event, future project events and outputs, as well as periodic newsletters on relevant topics (e.g. research on crime trends, policy recommendations, events, reports, crime prevention tools). Legal basis: your explicit consent.
- Images, video and audio recorded during events or interviews will be collected for free use on the Transcrime-UCSC and DATACROS III website and channels. Legal basis: your explicit consent.
3. Mode
The processing of your personal data is carried out by means of the operations indicated in Article 4 of the GDPR Regulations, namely: collection, recording, organization, storage, consultation, processing, modification, selection, extraction, comparison, use, interconnection, blocking, communication, deletion and destruction of data. Personal Data are processed manually, digitally and electronically applying logics strictly connected to the purposes and, in any case, to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the Data pursuant to laws in force.
4. Recipients
These processed personal data might be used and shared with the following recipients:
- Internal use within Transcrime-UCSC.
- In order to organise the Project’s initiatives and research, and only within the limits of this purpose, data may be shared with the DATACROS III consortium partners (full list, description and relevant links are available in the “Partners” section of this website)
- Technological and service providers. We use third parties to develop, maintain and improve the website, and for security measures. Data may be shared with these parties only within the limits of this purpose.
- Without your express consent, the Controller may also communicate your data to Supervisory Bodies, Judicial Authorities as well as to all other subjects to whom the communication is obligatory by law for the fulfillment of the said purposes.
Subjects belonging to the categories that data can be communicated to, will process the Data, based on the case, as Processors specifically appointed by the Controller pursuant to law, or as autonomous Controllers.
The list of Data Processors appointed is updated continuously and available from the Transcrime offices.
5. Retention period
The Data Controller will process personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the above purposes or until you ask us to delete it, and in any case for no longer than ten years from the time of data collection.
6. Rights of the data subject
You have the right, as per Articles 15 to 21 of EU Regulation no. 2016/679, to exercise the following rights concerning your personal data:
- Right to access: You can request access to your personal data.
- Right to rectification: You can request correction of any inaccuracies in your personal data.
- Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to restrict processing: You can request restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- Right to data portability: You can receive a structured, machine-readable copy of your personal data.
- Right to object: You can object to the processing of your personal data.
- Right to withdraw consent: If we process your personal data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
